It is a comfortable 3 hour 30 minute drive north of Auckland.  The perfect place to escape the 'big city' syndrome and spend some time in rural New Zealand.

During the time of the rugby world cup, Whangarei is only one hour south for those pool games that are being held out of Auckland but still close enough to travel from and to comfortably.

Coming from the south on State Highway 10 from Kerikeri, drive through Waipapa Village and continue on along this road. 

Take the second road on the left — Waipapa West Rd. 

Stay on this road for approx 3 km until you reach the junction of Waipapa West Road and Ness Rd (there is a bus stop on the right hand corner of the turning into Waipapa West Road).

Remain going on straight ahead as you are now on Ness Rd.  Approximately 2.16km along this road on your right hand side is Ipipiri Lodge.
